Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to form pictures of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the human body. There are no ionizing radiation (X-rays) used in an MRI. An MRI scan is mainly performed for disease detection, diagnosis and treatment monitoring. In MRI test, a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer is used to produce detailed anatomical images. The images can then be examined on a computer monitor, transmitted electronically.
